Brad Smith, Distance Learning Coordinator, presented our
distance learning prototype in the "Training, Human Performance,
and Workforce Development" session at the American Nuclear
Society in San Diego. The presentation was well received
as a novel approach to distance education.

Neutron Counting Station nearing completion; first online
lab complete. The NSC completed a lab for which we pulsed
the reactor, obtained neutron spectra and broadcast the results.
Communications took place using a Web cam, conference call and e-mail
during the experiment.
License renewal submitted, NSC operating under timely
renewal. The NSC has submitted a rewritten safety analysis
report to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to re-license the reactor
for 20 more years.
Jang wins Outstanding Presentation Award. Siyoung
Jang received the Outstanding Presentation Award at the American
Nuclear Society student meeting at the University of California,
Berkeley for his presentation, "Development of Neutron Irradiation
System with Texas A&M University Reactor."
